1. Start drilling at a 45° angle – Position the rotating drill bit at an angle to the material, and as it begins to cut a groove, slowly straighten it to a 90° angle.
2. Use circular movements – Whilst working, make gentle circular (orbital) movements. This helps to remove the cuttings and drastically reduces friction, which prevents the diamond from overheating.
3. Recommended speed – The maximum operating speed of the hole saw is 13,000 rpm. Using an angle grinder at this speed ensures optimum cutting performance.
4. Cleaning the side slots – After drilling each hole, remove any remaining material from inside the core bit using the side slots.
