SIMPLEFIX deck line hidden decking installation pads are an innovative system on the Polish market. The set consists of 100 pads:
What are they actually used for? The main purpose of these elements is to hide the visible connections between the decking boards and the joists. How can this be done? By using our system. The plastic washers included in the set are screwed onto one side of the decking board from the underside (using 4 mm diameter screws). Place the board on the joists and screw the protruding part of the washer to the joist (using 4 mm diameter screws). After laying the first board, proceed in the same way with the next ones, pushing the boards together each time. The space between the boards, i.e. the joint, is determined by the protruding element in the pad. It also acts as an expansion joint to prevent damage to the boards under stress, and at the same time as a drainage hole for rainwater.
The pads are made of durable polypropylene reinforced with fibreglass and containing UV stabilisers. Resistance to UV light and weather conditions means that the pads do not degrade as quickly as other outdoor products. This ensures adequate protection and guarantees that the terrace will serve us for many years. The pads themselves do not make any disturbing noises such as squeaking, and the distance they create between the board and the joist extends the life of the boards by many years.
The number of pads needed per square metre of decking depends on two parameters:
For example, when using boards with a width of 145 mm (standard) and joist spacing of 70 cm, we need about 35 pieces per square metre. As the joist spacing changes to 50 cm, the number of pads required will be higher, at about 40 pieces per square metre.
